Employers: help us support women returning to work or changing careers

The world of work is constantly changing, so it can be hard to decide the next step to take in your career. It is time for a promotion? A career change? Or to return to work after a break?

In particular, it can be challenging for many women to re-enter the workforce or change careers after an extended break. These breaks can occur for a range of reasons, such as parenting or carer responsibilities, health or lifestyle reasons.

This means there is currently a huge opportunity for employers to help to support these women – and in turn, to access this significant pool of untapped talent!

So how do we do it?

Louise Gilbert was recently awarded funding from the Australian Government to launch World of Work – Australia’s first fully end-to-end program designed to support women returning to work after a break or changing career direction.

Launching the World of Work Program is a natural step for Louise Gilbert – we’re passionate about supporting people to be more connected, happier and more engaged at work and life. Our offerings help people to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

To design and deliver the exciting new World of Work Program, I’ve joined forces with esteemed specialists Allan Gatenby of the Association of Career Practitioners international and Tanaz Byramji of Tanaz Coaching and Consulting.

About the program

The World of Work Program will initially equip 500 women with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take charge of their career when returning to work after a break or changing careers.

It will provide them with seamless support that brings together siloed organisations, career advisory bodies, training organisations and employers.

Across the six modules of the program, participants will design their life and career and determine the practical ways to make it a reality.

They will leave feeling confident and more engaged in work.

How you can be involved

We are partnering with select employers who have a culture of care and understand how important it is to support women returning to work after an extended break or changing careers. Employers who want to see happier, healthier women in work.

Through these partnerships, employers will not only be helping to support hundreds of women, but they will have direct access into this significant cohort of talent.

We understand different organisations have different needs, so we offer varying levels of partnership that are tailored specifically to each organisation. These partnerships are collaborative and designed to align with your strategic goals and values.

We want you to get the most out of the program, just like the participants.

For example, our top-level partnership can include candidate placements, bespoke promotional activities such as videos and social media content, executive coaching sessions, and insights data to help you recruit more talent. Plus so much more.

Other ways to support us

That said, we understand that not every employer will be in a position to commit to a partnership – but there are other ways you can help us to reach as many women as possible.

You can become a World of Work champion and can spread the word among women you know, so they can sign up to participate or share it with their networks as well.

Or perhaps you can introduce us to another organisation that has access to women who are looking to change careers or re-enter the workforce?

Next steps

This is an exciting opportunity for employers to support women to return to work or change careers. Let’s work together to make it happen!
